It's shocking that there are so many children in Fairfax County who are in need. As the second most affluent county in the United States (second to Loudoun County), you wouldn't think that there are so many families living in poverty. The truth is that no matter where you go, you will always find that there are unmet needs.
We learned of this need at Dranesville Elementary School simply by asking the staff "What are your needs?" and "How can we serve your school?" Let me tell you - I'm glad that we asked. It was such a privilege to be able to give back to our own community, and to help out our neighbors. There really is something about taking the focus off of yourself and putting it onto others that rejuvenates your soul.
